Michael,
Some people feel that if it’s not broken why change. These are the same people that are crying about the why is this, and why am I getting this on my PC.

@Michael Aulia: I even can’t believe there are still people visiting my site with IE6 but I should believe because they are not like us. They even don’t know what is browser then how do going to know what is Flash Player.
Thanks for this information Frank. I read it earlier in a security blog. Good to see, you cover it too.

Thanks for covering this. I am amazed to read this though. I mean people who still have flash 6, do not surf internet much or if they surf, they do not visit any of the sites that have flash. Coz if they would have visited any of these, they would already have seen the message to upgrade to the new flash plugin for their browsers. This also means that several people are just unaware of the most potential sites of today like You Tube. Wonder what they Use Internet for? Just Emails?
Anyways, there was a release from Microsoft in 2008 that they were shutting down their support for XP (which was needed of course for promotng Vista). So now why is Microsoft Coming up with this – 2 years late?

My first response to flash6 was like the others. Then I was reminded of a recent video I saw interviewing computer users on the street. They did not know what a browser was – no kidding! That has made me shake my head reconsider who my readers may be.
You nailed the bottom line. The internet is awash with windows xp users and if they haven’t clued into the fact that Adobe Flash Player is among the most commonly exploited desktop apps they will be sorry. So I’ll spread the word too.

Hi,
I was VERY annoyed to discover that the Flash download linked from this page also Installs an unwanted McAfee program. This is VERY bad form and you should desist from this behaviour.
