Rumors have sprung up in the last few months that the second expansion to Blizzard’s titanically popular World of Warcraft entitled Wrath of the Lich King, is slated to release sometime in late 2008. This rumor was circulated primarily around WoW Insider, a WoW fan site and message forum. Certain users were suspected to have been given access for alpha testing under a Non-disclosure agreement.

Well get ready, WoW fans, because the rumor has been confirmed. Expect delivery of the much-anticipated expansion in late 2008, according to a Gamespot article which verified that Vivendi SA announced the release in their quarterly earnings report. Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPGs) are becoming widespread - there’s probably not one of you reading this who doesn’t know someone that plays World of Warcraft, Everquest, or at some point in time, Ultima Online.
