TechJaws takes internet security very serious. We have published many security articles to inform our visitors and friends about the current risks on the internet. We are conducting a poll to see what Antivirus solution everyone is using. If you are not using any Antivirus protection, please let us know why by commenting on this blog.

Thank you for taking our poll.
I’ve been using Kaspersky for the past few months. Norton drives me bananas, and McAfee didn’t seem to catch things as they happened, just after the fact. It could have been user error on the last one, but at least Kaspersky installs and works right from the get go.
~ Kristi
@Kristi – I am a fan of two products, one being Avast and the other is Comodo.
what? where’s my NOD?!
That would be other. Sorry I didn’t include that.
Zone Alarm and its updates are free from our DSL provider so, I choose to use that. Prior to that, I was an avid Norton Professional AV user, but when I got a wireless router .. Norton Internet interfered with my subscription.
I like to hunt ’em down and kill ’em myself.
Fatercat,
You’re the beer drinking friend I admire!!
Hey Frank, I use Kaspersky because smarter people than me say it’s the best solution. I know Kristi uses it but the real question is: what do you use and why? How’s that for a 180 on the survey?
I use Comodo, which is not only an Antivirus suit, but also a firewall solution. I also use Avast. I have to test many products, as a few manufacturers send me free licenses to test and review.
I am fortunate, and hope to test many more AV programs in the future that I can share with all of you.
I’ve used Avast now for quite a while & have absolutely nothing but good to say about it.I never liked Norton or McAfee..
Deb,
I use Avast to and have been pleased with it.
I don’t download much anymore but I got that Panda :)
working.
I use avira antivir premium security suite. Before that i used avast and pctools free firewall.
I use Linux, so don’t use Anti-virus on my personal computers, although I do run a firewall, both software and hard.
However, when I fix peoples computers, I typically install ClamWin and Spybot, because ClamWin is really good on resources, unlike a lot of the other popular anti-virus programs. ClamWin is not a real time scanner though, which accounts for its better use of resources, so for those with limited computer experience, I like to install something more aggressive, like AVG.
I might have to give Kaspersky a try though, because it seems a lot of people like it.
I use avast. previously i’ve used avg, norton and mcafee. but i think avast is the best. so sticking to it.
I switched to Ubuntu Linux OS so anti-virus software is not required.
