There’s a lot of Rogue Software (Fake Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware Software) spreading fast and many people are falling for these scams. Unfortunately, some people end up paying for the full license to remove false and or exaggerated threats from the computer. Rogue software is a scam and its only intent is to steal your money.

Searching for removal instructions can lead to bigger issues and more than likely the end-user will shell out even more money. When conducting a search for a recently launched rogue spyware called “Malware Destructor 2011.” Many of the search results lead to dangerous and malicious websites that spread malware and Trojans.

Example search results:

Removing Rogue Software

3 out of the 7 natural search results are rated dangerous by the Web of Trust Community (WOT). All 3 paid search ads are rated dangerous. The likelihood of someone clicking on any of these links is highly probable.

If you recently downloaded any rogue anti-virus or antispyware software and you need to remove it, only use reputable sources. TechJaws publishes many articles on how to remove rogue software that’s currently spreading wild across the internet. There are tools that can effectively remove these pesky fake software programs without costing the end-user more money.

How to Remove Rogue Software

Download and install SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Both security programs come with free versions.

I recommend that you run multiple passes of SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

It’s important that you keep your security programs up to date. I highly recommend downloading the WOT (Web of Trust) add-on for IE and/or Firefox. The WOT add-on warns you about risky sites before you click.

Great advice. Once you’re infected, you often can’t go to a site like Trend because the malware won’t let you. But you can always come to TechJaws to get instructions on removal.

I’ve used Malwarebytes Anti-Malware many times when my mom or sons were fooled by fake anti-virus on the web. It is really great.

If you disable the proxy connection under
your internet connections first and load
    any removal software via flashdrive
onto your computer this type of rogue
    software doesn’t stand a chance.

Never run the SUPERAntiSpyware in my system. Does it really help? I am very scared about these viruses. I bought and installed some other anti virus system. Even that is not working. Thanks for the great information.
