I’d also add to be sure that the site is secure when you enter credit card information onlne. Be sure that you see https:\\ and not just http:\\ in the url when you’re ordering. That ensures that your information is secure.

Great tips! You’re right with Paypal, but most credit card companies provide fraud protection as well. I never thought about prepaid credit cards though. That’s a great idea!

Great advice Frank! If payments can’t be made with PayPal, then I always use a prepaid credit card when shopping online. With Paypal there there is always a way to get your funds back if cheated or scammed. With a prepaid credit card, all they can get is the amount on the card. the Prepaid card isn’t attached to a bank account.

Also, with Paypal the “merchant” never knows your account information. All they know is where and how to ship your item

I am also a City boy from New York (40 years) and I can relate to what your saying. We NY’ers are sharp, but we could be fooled if the presentation looks real. It’s best to do your homework and stick with what you know.
