How to Remove Viruses and Unwanted Programs

by Frank Jovine on 09/05/2009 in Security, Virus Removal

TechJaws has provided information on current Security Risks, Misleading Applications, Rogue Software and Scareware for more than a year. We try very hard to keep our visitors and fans informed.

Recently, I received an email from an unknown person, thanking me for an article I published on how to remove AvCare. The person Goggled “How to Remove AvCare” and our article was at the top of the page. The person was very grateful and even offered to pay me via PayPal which I declined.

The internet is full of scams, and 2009 will more than double the amount of Misleading Applications and Scareware compared to 2008.

You can visit our Security Category to get an entire list of risks that we have found. We have included removal instructions for each of these Unwanted Programs. You can also visit Free PC Security to get more information on how to remove viruses, malware, etc. The site has a great inventory of free and safe programs you can download to combat these vulnerabilities and risks.

You should only download security programs from a trusted source, such as; Symantec/Norton, McAfee, AVG, Kaspersky, etc. If you are not sure of the source, use Google and include the name of the program in your search to see if there are any articles that indicate the program as being dangerous.

  1. Thanks for doing this. Not everyone can keep track of all this. Why these scammers can’t be stopped, I don’t understand.

It was very neat for you to be recognized like that. Presuming a lot of the pretty savvy internet users which frequent your blog, I thought you were kind of preaching the choir. I hadn’t considered how many people might be helped by coming across these articles via search.

You have done a great service my friend.

You may want to add VIPRE Antivirus + Antispyware by Sunbelt Software to your list, I have found it to be very effective and easy on system resources.

      Georgie,

      Glad we can help!

  7. I work in the IT industry and have my own IT consulting business. What I do for my clients is I implement “Deep Freeze” which stops viruses, 3rd party softwares, exploits…etc, from staying permanently on the computer in the first place. I find this practice very useful in a corporate environment where the client workstations are always at optimal state. (Files…etc. are being saved to and accessed from the server)
