Antivirus System Pro or AntivirusSystemPro is a fake antivirus application. This fake application can be downloaded from a Web page and must be manually installed. When a user downloads AntivirusSystemPro and runs a scan, the program reports false security threats. The user is then prompted to pay for a full license of the application in order to remove the threats.

The misleading application may prevent a user from running any other executable, claiming that it is infected and asking the user to register the misleading application.

  1. Disable System Restore (Windows Me/XP).
  2. Update the virus definitions.
  3. Run a full system scan.
  4. Delete any values added to the registry.
