Happy 50th Birthday Etch A Sketch!
by Frank Jovine on 07/12/2010 in Games, Other
I remember when I was a little kid and I would sit for hours trying to draw something really cool on an Etch A Sketch. It was hard to sketch anything, even stick figures. If you were one of the few who had artistic ability and dexterity, you were probably good at it. These were the days when kids were much more creative. There were no game consoles or computers, just good old games.
In 1960, the Etch A Sketch Magic Screen drawing toy, invented by French electrician Andre Cassagnes, was first produced by the Ohio Art Co.
The sketch turned 50 today and you can still buy this game today, wow!
We’ve all played with an Etch-a-Sketch before, but I think George Vlosich III has every one of us beat when it comes to artistic ability and patience when there’s no room for errors.

He is truly amazing and I wish I could do a fraction of what he creates with no eraser!

Wow, 50 years. I loved etch a sketch as a kid, wasn’t very good at it but I liked it and it kept me busy for hours. My kids didn’t love it as much but I guess when compared to game boy it’s a little more docile
