Handbrake for Video Conversions
by Brad K on 12/30/2008 in Software, Tech
I was looking for an application to change my video files into different formats for all of my media players and I found Handbrake. HandBrake is an open-source, GPL-licensed, multiplatform, multithreaded video transcoder, available for MacOS X, Linux and Windows.
Handbrake can convert any DVD-like source: VIDEO_TS folder, DVD image or real DVD (unencrypted–protection methods including CSS are not supported internally and must be handled externally with third-party software and libraries), and some .VOB and .TS files. Handbrake can get libavformat to read and libavcodec to decode most media files.
Handbrake can output the file in a huge number of formats including, MP4, MKV, AVI or OGM. The audio and video output formats supported are, AAC, MP3, Vorbis or AC-3 pass-through (supports encoding of several audio tracks), MPEG-4, H.264, or Theora (1 or 2 passes or constant quantizer/rate encoding). Handbrake also has built in settings for PSP, PS3, Ipod, Iphone, Itouch and many more.
Handbrake is multithreaded application, which means it will utilize the newest processors for maximum speed and quality.
Handbrake is a easy to use Free tool that works great. Handbrake is available for download here.

HandBrake is very popular, I can see it on many website, this is benefit from free, but it is difficult to use for beginner, lack support and weak stability. HandBrake attend technology and ignore user experience.
I consider iFunia is better.
