Free Online Virus and Spyware Scanner

Start the New Year off right with a PC that’s free of viruses and spyware! There are many free online scanners, but in order to remove any infections you need to purchase the product license. The F-Secure Online Scanner does it all for free.
F-Secure free online scanner can help get rid of viruses and spyware that can cause major problems on your system. The scanner alone can’t help you 100% you need to have an up-to-date security solution installed on your PC.
How it works
- The F-Secure Online Scanner add-on for Firefox needs to be installed.
- You need to read and accept the terms before installing the add-on.
- If the yellow bar appears in Firefox, just click on the Allow button in the top right.
- After you install the Firefox add-on you will have to restart Firefox.
- After you restart Firefox you will be taken to the F-Secure Scanner. Just click on the Start button.
- Select Quick Scan.
F-Secure will begin to scan your PC for any known issues. Once the scan is completed, the F-Secure Scanner will clean any infected files it finds. The scan may take up to 15 minutes or longer to complete.
When the Online Scanner is complete, use the recommended setting (already selected) to remove the infected files.

I’ve not heard of F-Secure before – are they a reputable company? Does anyone else have any experience with them?

Experience? Yes I recommend it or I would never publish an article unless I have researched and tested.

Hello Frank,
Like the others I haven’t heard of F-secure. I have used Trend Micro’s Housecall when I had my old computer. I use Norton and have never had any problems with my new computer — fingers crossed. Now that I know about F-Secure I will have an alternative. Thanks.

Glad to see you are well. F-Secure is a well known and trusted Internet Security firm. I like the scanner, but I don’t like that it takes so long. It does a good job of scanning and removing infected files.
