eBay CEO Donahoe a Deer in Headlights
by Frank Jovine on 06/20/2008 in Business, Internet
John Donahoe will be up against a slew of angry and more so disappointed sellers at eBay’s Live conference, which started yesterday in Chicago.
eBay has seen a slow down in growth on its web site. The biggest issue for eBay sellers is the fee increase and the inability to make negative comments about buyers.
I spoke to a Power Seller located in Chicago and he expressed major disappointment towards eBay. He stated to me that eBay is now more for the buyer’s best interest and not the seller. To me this is common sense as you need sellers or you have no buyers.
Ebay has a major and concerning challenge that could launch anarchy amongst its seller’s which could lead to a strike against eBay.
There’s more to worry about as well, with possible competition for eBay’s PayPal unit from Amazon.com.
