Download Firefox Day 2008
by RT on 05/29/2008 in Internet, Software

The folks over at Spread Firefox have rallied up a global “Download Day 2008″ for the release of Firefox 3. While the official release date has yet to be announced, you can head on over there now and pledge to download that day and help set a world record for downloads of a software product within a 24 hour period.
By including your e-mail address with your pledge, you can be notified when the release date is announced, and periodically reminded as the date comes up, so you don’t forget. They promise not to sell your address or spam you about other things.
I’ve been a pretty avid fan of Firefox since it’s first release, and Mozilla browser before that. My activism was even to the point of donating a small amount a while back to be a part of the full-page ad in the New York Times in December 2004.
Even if you don’t use Firefox regularly, I encourage you to go over to the site and pledge to download it on release day, and just give it a try even if you’ve been turned off by earlier versions.
Show your support (or complaints) for FireFox 3 final release in the comments!
