Beware of April Fools Scams and Hoaxes

I know that many of us love to play practical pranks and hoaxes on our friends and family, but today you should be careful when checking your email that looks like it came from someone you know. The attacker has become a friend on Facebook and probably just recently. The attacker will send an email that looks like one sent from a friend you know with the message about something you recently read on your Facebook wall.

The attacker will craft a message with a link in the message body in hopes that the victim will click on the link that goes to a malicious web site. These so-called attackers usually take advantage of holiday’s and this being April Fools is not one you get time off from work or even throw a big party for, but it’s still a holiday, and it’s loaded with pranks and hoaxes.

Be smart and thoroughly look at the email address and content in the email. If the email is from a person in your contact list, then it is from somebody you know.

CYBER CRIMINALS ARE SMART AND CRAFTY, SO NEVER, EVER, LET YOUR GUARD DOWN.

Have fun and don’t be the next fool.
