Does Page Bloat Impact Google Rankings?
by Frank Jovine on 06/16/2009 in Google
Mr. Google (Matt Cutts) explains the impact that page bloat has on Google Rankings. I always believed if a page has too many images, content and flash objects, it would cause issues with the Googlebot timing out because of the size (bytes) of the page.
Even though Matt explains that page bloat is handled well by Google, it’s recommend to still build lower latency and faster loading pages.

That makes sense… I’m sure with the gazillions of sites those bots have to crawl, they have some kind of efficiency time that if a page doesn’t load, they move on.

Kristi,
It’s important like I started to keep you page latency low and page loads fast. In fact you never want to exceed CPU quota with your host or they shut you down until the server recovers.
