The Magic Carpet Ride 2010 would like to invite you to a special charity event in support of Children of Fallen Riders. Come join us at KC’s Cabin in Spring Grove, IL this Sunday, August 29. There will be food, music, helicopter rides and so much more. You don’t need to ride in order to join this fun event.

The morning will have a live broadcast from 95 WIIL Rock. Registration begins at 9:00, they will have live music all day, early bands are Cover Blondz and The Bloodline Blues Band along with Helicopter Rides from Lakeshore Helicopters.

The Bike Run

The run leaves promptly at 11:00 am and will wind through Northern Illinois into Kansasville and we will stop at Marie’s Wildlife Refuge and then onto Lumpy’s Sports Bar & Grill. The run will end back at KC’s Cabin for music, food and entertainment. We have Tallan Latz coming in and Anthony Gomes will rock the house in the late afternoon.

We all love attention, but what if that attention translated into being mentioned on popular news sites? It really did happen and I was very surprised. On April Fools Day we served up our own spoof in an article called “Microsoft Buys Yahoo“. The article link was featured on CBS and CNet, with other blogs and websites that also had their own spoofs.

It certainly felt good to be mentioned on both of these popular sites and I hope other articles we write will get the same attention. The web traffic we received that day was incredible! We had thousands of visitors in a three hour span from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, but the traffic was still coming throughout the entire day and evening.

I am a big fan of CNet for both news and reviews. I visit daily to get the latest buzz in the tech sector. I also make decisions on purchases based on CNet’s product reviews.

This really motivates me more to learn and to help my friends and fans. I hope that one day we become featured in the Sci/Tech section at Google News.

Google ushered in the New Year with a Pagerank (PR) update. Some of us will wake up with either good news or bad news, but which ever direction your pagerank went, never let it get you down. Bloggers work hard in achieving recognition, fans and if you are lucky revenue. TechJaws has doubled its backlinks since the last update and we went from a PR4 to a PR3. Be happy and stay positive.

We hope you have enjoyed our blogs as much as we did writing them. We would like to wish all of you a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Everyday I search the internet reading through technology blogs and noticed something really amazing, no I have not discovered the new internet. I have discovered that there aren’t many female tech bloggers. Just let me say one thing, female tech bloggers write much more interesting content than their counterparts, me included. They write with passion like we all do, but provide an emotion more so than the male counterpart. This by far drives me to read further through the story.

One of my favorite female bloggers (authors) is Mary-Jo Foley of ZDNet who authors a blog called “All about Microsoft”. She really knows her stuff and I mean she knows it cold! I enjoy reading her articles each day or when ever there’s a fresh one posted. We need more Mary-Jo Foley’s writing tech blogs.

TechJaws.com is currently seeking a tech blogger to contribute fresh news articles based on Technology or Science. This has been a challenging task so far, but we are looking to hit gold soon.

The last 24 hours have been the most frustrating for me with TechJaws.com going off the air. The reason for the outage is both good and bad.

The Good:

We received more than 10,000 unique visitors between 2:00pm and 4:00pm CDT on October 31st.

The Bad:

According to our current host company, TechJaws exceed the CPU utilization during that time period. This caused all the virtual accounts on that server to respond slow or not respond at all.

I am in the process of trying to get my upload files, image folder, and get the other two domains back online as they’re paid for until 8/2009. This process of getting my account un-suspended has been painful to say the least. It would have been a great close for the month of October with that traffic I missed out on. It also would have been a great start for the month of November.

I would like to thank all of you who were concerned and sent emails. I received more than 100 emails in the last 24 hours.
