Beware of World War III Hoax

Hackers are sending web users with malware-laden spam claiming that World War III has started following a US invasion of Iran.
Security experts warned today that spam emails with subject lines including ‘Third World War has begun’, ‘20000 US Soldiers in Iran’ and ‘US Army crossed Iran’s borders’ have been intercepted.
The emails contain links to a malicious webpage that displays what appears to be a video player showing the mushroom cloud of a nuclear explosion.
Text on the page reads: ‘Just now US Army’s Delta Force and US Air Force have invaded Iran. Approximately 20000 soldiers crossed the border into Iran and broke down the Iran’s Army resistance. The video made by US soldier was made today morning. Click on the video to see the first minutes of the beginning of World War III. God save us.’
If users visit the webpage and click on the ‘video player’ they run the risk of being infected with the Troj/Tibs-UO Trojan and a malicious JavaScript hidden on the website as Mal/ObfJS-AY.
Spread the work to your friends and family to be careful on what links they click in their email.

Or: Perhaps “true” (tentatively). And the US gov. censored the video? Even, possibly, the US gov. planted the virus? Holding back on telling us what is really happening until a proper spin can be applied to it? Still, I don’t recommend clicking on the video. On the other hand: Very believable!

The media is global, there is not much that will go on on that scale without someone knowing about it happening when it happens. Time to pull your butt out of the 1950′s and do something about the paranoia.

The US fights wars. Enough said about paranoia. They’re the one’s caught in a time warp. Nothing can be solved through violence. Bush is a liar. And the American public are robots who believe everything they’re told. Everyone knows a war is planned with Iran. We’ll have “maneuvers” until people stop believing. Then we’ll be told a false reason for going to war. And we’ll find out the truth after we stop caring any more. Everything is a spin. And with homeland security (for example), anyone going against the govt. can be silenced. My idea (originally) was that it was silenced only for an hour or day… kept off the internet. By this time, sure, we’d have found out. So I’m guessing it WAS just a hoax. But if not now, then soon. And we’re not guaranteed to win regardless of the spin.
