I’m really surprised to hear that their commercial aired. You would think that someone along the line the FCC would shut them down.

Bellamy,
They are hoping that less savvy computers users will buy into the scam.

I used to work for Compusa in Seattle WA at the service desk. I had a lady complaining her computer was running slow. She worked for Solution 180 which at the time was a big spam company. Herr computer was infected with spyware from her own company. Ironic isn’t.

Troy,
Scams are a dime a dozen and that’s scary.

I don’t get into any “Defender programs” I think they cause more harm than good…

Dave,
that’s only true if you are not using a trusted source.

I actually got MyCleanPC. First, it clearly says everywhere that it is powered by Cyberdefender, a NASDAQ company. i think they get more oversite then a free software company operating out of a backroom somewhere. my experience with them was reasonable for the price I paid. It was the first time I ran any kind of software like this after more than 3 years of using my system. it found more then 1000 issues and seemed to fix all of them. Maybe its is buyer defense but I know my system is faster then before using it.
I know not everyone will have the same result, and I have tried several free programs only to have to uninstall them when they did very little or I could not get any support. So is MyCleanPCfor everyone – no, but for some and especially those who are not computer geniuses it seems to do something.

Rich,
If your system seems faster, great. If you haven’t noticed any strange things happening, than your software that you purchased is fine.

I saw that commercial about mycleanpc.com and i downloaded the free trial and ran it. It found a lot fo stuff wrong with my computer, so I bought the upgrade since it came with a 30 day money back guarantee. It ran, and when i restarted my computer, it was definitely much faster. I may not be no computer expert, but my computer seems faster so I’m happy with it.
