A List of Dofollow Blogs to Improve Your Pagerank
by Frank Jovine on 06/25/2009 in SEO Tips
I know many of us have read many SEO articles that explain that commenting on Dofollow blogs, with good Pagerank, will improve your Pagerank over time. The toughest challenge is finding blogs that have a PR4 or greater and are dofollow.
What’s Dofollow?
It’s when a website or blog removes the rel=”nofollow, in other words, search engines give credit to the link and improve your ranking.
Tools for finding Dofollow Blogs
There are ways to search for blogs that are dofollow, but the process is very time consuming. There are tools such as CommentHunt.com that can help you in your search for some needed link juice. The process is less time consuming and it provides search results that include dofollow blogs. You may not find the Goose that laid the Golden Egg when it comes to high PR blogs that are dofollow. It takes time and patience.
There’s another tool called FastBlogFinder. FastBlogFinder searches for blog posts that rank in Google for a particular phrase and makes it easy to comment on them. I would only use this tool to search for highly ranked blogs that are dofollow and comment naturally and not automated.
A list of PR4 to PR6 Blogs that are Dofollow – (my gift to you)
The list includes:
3 PR6 Blogs
6 PR5 Blogs
14 PR4 Blogs
Happy commenting!

Hart,
If you were to comment on 5 blogs per day that are dofollow and have a PR3 or greater, you would see an improvement over time. The PR5 is a tough climb to get to, but not impossible.

How many of those blogs have comment forms on the home page?
How many of their internal pages have the same PR as the home page?
How many links appear on each of those pages with even a miniscule amount of page rank to be distributed?
By all means comment on the said blogs, but comment because you want to (like this), rather than because you have to!

Rhys,
No one has to do anything. But if you’re looking to get a little credit, than comment. If a site has a PR 5 on its homepage, this doesn’t mean post pages will even be ranked. In some cases they’re.

What I’m trying to say is you shouldn’t comment “to get a little credit”. You should comment to contribute to the blog. In the long run it’ll be worth more, with editorials, backlinks from multiple blogs & more readers to your own

Rhys,
I perfectly understand your position and I agree. The suggestive point in this article is that if you need a little link juice, why not search for the Golden Goose.
I never implied just comment because you want credit. I search out blogs in my niche and I will select those that I feel share the best content even if they’re dofollow or not.

Does google penalize blogs that are do-follow?
Frank J
Jun 25th, 2009
Joanie,
They do not. But you must watch who comments as some comments belong to bad neighbors – i.e. spam sites that Google will penalize you for providing credit.

No problem!
@Rhys Yes, you should definitely comment because you want to add something valuable to an article you enjoy, not just for credit. But there’s nothing wrong with looking for something valuable on a dofollow list. Might as well get the benefits of both worlds – reading informative articles and getting a little link juice back.
While there aren’t comments on the PR ranked home page, what you could look out for (if you are concerned about the linkbuilding) are sites that have the Top Commenter list, so if you regularly post a number of comments (valuable, non-spammy ones), your link will be right on the homepage. And also popular articles tend to gain PR over time, so being within the first few comments helps there as well.

@Kikolani
Yes I do agree with you upto a point. The problem is how many people genuinely enjoy the article, or how many people are doing it for a linkback? Obviously it promotes discussion, but looking at the list Frank gave, a lot of the blogs are in different niches. Say a mommy blog has a PR4 dofollow page. I’m not going to comment on it, dofollow or nofollow, because it’s not something I’m interested in.
By limiting yourself to dofollow blogs, you’re missing a lot of discussion. And from a bloggers perspective who runs dofollow, a bit of paranoia has set in – are they commenting because they like my site? Or because I have dofollow? I have noticed myself that the amount of comments I get has dropped incredibly since I switched both my top commenters list & comments to nofollow.
@Frank Sorry I haven’t replied to your email, will do so tonight or tomorrow

Hey Frank, did you check out my PR Checker plugin? It might help you maintain a list if you are up to it…
As for the conversation. The PR of any site is merely a figure showing how “popular” that blog is. Now, even if the inner pages are not indexed, that doesn’t mean they are not read. That just means that they are not linked to, which is natural. Now, you might not build your link reputation but you will get yourself noticed, which is even better. As for linkbuilding, this will come over time just by having fun and joining conversations…

I have been thinking about checking out Fast Blog Finder, but I haven’t jumped on the bandwagon just yet. I think do follow blogs provide an extra incentive to comment, but I rarely comment just for the sake of a link. Maybe in a marginal case where I don’t have a strong opinion, but in general if I am commenting it is because I enjoyed the content and have some ideas on it. Kudos to you Frank.

Jay,
I agree and Rhys agrees with the same thing about commenting because you want to. But it doesn’t hurt to get some link juice either.
Thanks Jay

Thanks for sharing, Frank!
And you’re right – commenting on dofollow blogs is clearly beneficial; particularly if they are topic relevant (since blog comments can attract modest amounts of human click-throughs as well).
It’s not worth spamming a load of irrelevant blogs, but picking out a few links a day (ideally dofollow), definitely has an impact.
